Stu Hoberman started Technics Publications in New York in 1966, creating easy-to-follow, high-quality documentation and instruction manuals. When asked as a child what he wanted to be when he grew up, Stu’s son Steve always gave the same answer: “I want to work in my father’s office.” Although Steve eventually moved from New York, he did follow in his father’s footsteps in 2005, opening his own publishing company under Technics Publications with his dad’s values of quality over quantity, practical over pretense, and clear over complex. Today, Technics Publications is the leader in data-focused books. You may already own a few. Hint: they’re the ones filled with bookmarks, notes, and highlighting.
